Objective: The researchers in this article intend to show that game theory can provide new insight during the planning process and even this technique can be used in the fourth step of the command and staff steps, preparation of operational estimate and war game.Therefore, with the aim of explaining the use of game theory in the military decision-making process, two sub-objectives are followed, first, explaining how to use game theory in mission analysis, and second, explaining how to use game theory in developing course of actions.

Methodology: The current research is applied and is carry out with descriptive method and mixed approach.

Findings: The results of the research show that 96 people in the sample community believe that operational designers and the staff can optimally use game theory during the military decision-making process in a basic way and with simple mathematics to understand the operational environment, compare course of actions , understand players and their motivations.

Originality: Game theory provides a valuable framework that can best be used to understand the players in the operational environment in order to analyze the mission and develop course of actions in the military decision-making process.
