Abstract
In the past, the wars were limited to physical aspect, waged in the battlefields only. Nowadays, with the communications revolution and the pivotal role of the information, a new aspect of wars is emerging in information environment over cyber platforms in different forms. Here, the social media plays a critical role, by the reason that social media, with its unique functionality, is a double-edged sword. The social media has put an end to the Government’s monopoly over the advertisement systems and the traditional media. When these users are put in a potential sphere of a military war, the role and impact of the digital media may change the wars result. Russo-Ukraine war, as the most recent military incident across the world, has, thanks to the social media, amongst the technological rivals, been turned into one of the mostly documented wars of the history, even in terms of war methodology.

The Researchers have adopted an analytical-descriptive to identify the impacts of the social media on Russo-Ukraine war from different viewpoints. The findings of the present research are compiled under two categorizations; i.e., the socio-cultural roots of Russo-Ukraine war and the role played by the social media in the war in the form of contents operations in the social media, the artificial intelligence as a supplement of social media, fake new and deepfakes amidst Russo-Ukraine war and the contribution of the social media to support and to render power balance in the war.
